Alternative Studio
Pricing and Policies
Initial consultations are always FREE,
and highly recommended!
At the Alternative Recording Studio, we try our best to
provide a rustic relaxing atmosphere with a great view
that is very conducive to recording. I value every client
and go out of my way to provide a high-quality product at
a very reasonable price. I strive for complete
satisfaction to the best of my abilities to do so. If
I believe we are not equipped in any way for your special
project, I will refer you to another reputable studio
that is.
Pricing:
As of January 1st 2009, the Alternative
Recording Studio charges $40/hr. for all editing,
restoration, mixing, and mastering activities, as well as
recording involving a single audio source (i.e. one
instrument, vocal, CD, tape, etc...), even if I am the
musician. The rate increases to $45/hr.
when multiple instruments or sound sources are being
recorded simultaneously (i.e. full band at once). When
other studio singers/musicians are utilized, the rate will
be $60/hr., shared $35 for the Studio, $25 for the
musician. Breaks do not count, however setup and dial-in
DOES, as this is the most tedious and important part of
any project.
We believe that a "pay-as-you-go" payment
policy is much more budget friendly for our clients than
estimates and lump sums at the beginning and conclusion of
a project. Therefore, payment is expected for each session
at the conclusion of that session.
We don’t mind if you
change your mind about your project. Just be aware that
any "redoes" that are not blatantly due to an error on my
part will be charged at the regular rate.
No project, (finished or unfinished) will leave the
studio until the current balance due is paid in full.
Any unpaid balance that goes beyond 60 days will be
subject to a 1 ½% per month interest charge (18% APR).
Data Backups:
Backups of your project data are conducted regularly,
provided free of charge! However, any project that goes
inactive for a long period of time resulting in removal
from the system to make room for current projects will be
subject to a $50 restoration fee. Backups take a lot of
time and great care on my part; however, we will not be
responsible for any loss of data from being removed and
restored due to inactivity and/or non-payment. If tracks
ever get lost due to equipment failure or error on my
part, those tracks will be re-recorded free of charge.
